Sales and retail runs from shop floors through wholesale to technical sales and key account management. The sector employs a great many people and is structurally broad: retail chain networks sit alongside specialised B2B sales organisations with quite different requirements and pay structures.
Usual qualifications
In retail, a federal VET diploma as a retail specialist is the standard qualification, extended by further training towards branch management. Technical sales usually expects a grounding in the product field being sold, combined with sales experience. Language skills and confidence in negotiation are directly usable in both areas.
